The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) held a seminar recently at Camp Karingal to teach its personnel the proper procedure and application of the Japanese Government sponsored Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).

 

The activity was highlighted by the arrival of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Program Director, Chief Superintendent Takahiko Iiri and his entourage who were formally welcomed by QCPD Director Police Chief Superintendent George T Regis.

 

The JICA contingent was composed of lecturers who talked about how the AFIS work and showed the participants comprising of QCPD Station Commanders and investigators how to utilize the system effectively by explaining procedures that should be done consistently.

QCPD donates cash and relief goods to Typhoon Sendong victims

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Chief Superintendent George T Regis turned-over today to Police Director Alan Purisima, Chief of the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) a total of Php.330,000.00 in cash representing voluntary donations of QCPD personnel and a truck load of assorted relief goods which will be delivered to the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame for the victims of typhoon Sendong in Visayas and Mindanao.

 

PCSupt Regis said the cash donations and assorted goods like groceries and canned goods, medicines and clothing, came from the personnel of QCPD’s twelve police stations and also the different offices and units at its headquarters in Camp Tomas Karingal.

QCPD conducts security inspection to public transport terminals in QC

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Chief Superintendent George Regis personally led today the conduct of security inspection to public transport terminals such as bus and train stations in Quezon City to ensure the safety of commuters.

 

PCSupt Regis initially conducted security inspection at the Araneta Center Bus Terminal before proceeding to the other bus terminals along EDSA including the LRT and MRT train stations in Quezon City.

 

PCSUPT Regis said, “We expect starting today and even in the coming days the exodus of our kababayans (fellowmen) including foreign and local tourists who wish to spend Christmas and New Year to the provinces.
